Happy New Year!
We ring in 2012 with excitement and much anticipation, as the June 1st opening of St. Bernard Parish Hospital is right around the corner! The June 2012 target date has been in our sights for many, many months – we’re excited to be entering the homestretch, with just six months to go.
We recently welcomed the addition of a Chief Information Officer, Medical Staff Coordinator, and Nursing leadership positions in the clinical areas of Emergency Department, Med-Surg, and Surgery/ICU. With these additions, our Administrative Office has outgrown its current location at St. Bernard Community Health Center and have relocated to 8400 W. Judge Perez Drive, Suite D, in Chalmette. This temporary location will house administrative staff and hospital equipment until finished space is available for us at the Hospital or Medical Office Building site.
Please make time to re-visit our website often to keep up to date on construction progress, operations and infrastructure news, employment opportunities, and other pertinent announcements. Recruitment efforts will soon expand to include website postings of jobs in direct patient care, ancillary and entry-level positions.

The HSD Board is working diligently with the project management company, the architect and the operations management company to open the state of the art facility for the people of St. Bernard Parish by June 2012.
