St. Bernard Parish Hospital recently celebrated the grand opening of its 60,000 square foot Medical Office Building located at 8050 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette, LA.
The three story medical center, adjacent to the hospital, is a “vital component in the expansion of medical treatment in St. Bernard Parish and critical to the overall success of the hospital “states Mr. Wayne Landry, Chief Executive Officer.
It will support approximately 15 individual Physician offices for private practice along with the St. Bernard Community Health Center which has leased more than 10,000 square feet on the bottom floor, expected to open sometime in mid-April. The clinic is presently operating out of trailers located on Judge Perez Drive in Arabi. The center will also provide space for the St. Bernard Parish Wic Office and a Sleep Lab to conduct studies.
A Timeshare office located in the center will allow physicians to lease medical office space by the day, helping to bring some much needed specialist services back into the community. This has already peaked quite an interest allowing us to attract the De La Ronde Group and a General Surgeon, who currently see patients in their offices. A Urologist, Gastroenterologist, Neurologist, Orthopedic and Dermatologist are also coming aboard in April.

The Medical Center is expected to generate additional revenue for the hospital as well as assist in bringing quality healthcare back to the citizens of St. Bernard Parish.
Hospital Administrative Executive Offices, Human Resources, Finance and the Office of the Hospital Service District will be located within the premises. There is also a 2,016 square foot Conference Center which is available to community organizations throughout the parish at no-cost. The Hospital Board feels it is very important to be engaged as a community partner and is excited to extend this invitation to those civic groups in need of a venue.
